In the original Ryou said "just a couple of rich high school kids" in a cocky manner, whilst here he said it in a wholesome happy way. Kinda miss his og version tbh. There's defintely more sexual tension between him and Ichigo here though.

This remake is moving pretty quickly though tbh (not complaining, but it does mean less character development), it's gonna be pretty surprising to see if they can actually squeeze the whole story into just 12 eps.

If they don't get the sequel with Berry and do og manga with 2020 2 chp piece then I think that should be enough.

One of the few memories i have of watching the original show was ichigo complaining about mint being a slacker, ryou being mean and only akasaka being nice

Yeah, Ichigo literally meant Mint like 2 minutes in and worked with her at the end last ep, pretty interesting. Lettuce is the cutest girl though imo.

Okay... Overview of both eps 1 and 2.
First: In the ep 1 all the main girls were shown coming to the museum which is when Ryu and Kiichirou use the DNA machine ray giving splicing DNA and powers to the heroines. (Here's spoilers compared from manga and og series,) In the manga there was this machine which shine a bright light which did not go into detail and showed glowing animal aka a cat goes into Ichigo and mainly shows her and In the og anime it shows her only. In the first ep so far is following some guidelines of the original manga with all the girls but obviously it change with introduction of Mint and helping defeating the rat chimera-anema which ("and here's spoiler part,") In was just mainly Ichigo that defeated the rat in both the manga and og anime than Mint was introduced in chapter 3 to 4 of the manga and ep 2 in og anime.

As for Mint in this she is more helper and less annoyance but still has the rich Ojou-sama personality in both all versions and apparently she is the first to receive her powers before Ichigo where's in the manga and 2002 anime it was reverse and Ichigo was on a mission to find all the other mew mew girls. Also they seem to skip the chapter of Mint being introduced which happen from original version('s') but if I had to guess this could be from the "Tokyo Mew Mew Re-Turn 2020" 2 chapter, 1 volume sequel, ("And I mean guess since I've haven't read that yet,)

Second: Ep 2 is pretty much going to the guidelines of both the original anime and manga which was near the end of volume 1 of the manga and ep 3 of og anime. Also enters the villain character number #1 "Quiche" which is seen in at the ending of this ep and he pretty much comes in a chapter near the end of volume 1 of the manga just before the 4th mew mew character. Masha got it's new nicknamed in the first 2 eps of the og anime but a little later in the manga like near the end of volume 1 to volume 2 (Reason for guess work is I for get easily,)

Third: Lettice is character is basically the same being the shy wallflower character whom most girls would bully and speaking of that they did tone that down a little but Lettice mew powers with the whole pools was on the money but with more emotion with one of the bully victims but in the original she was a bit more klutzy.

Fourth: For their mew looks attire is all from the redesigned 2020 sequel volume which Ichigo is pretty much the same but with more skirt and less fluffy bulge in her attire but also the differences is her is a little more curly like and her natural red hair color than the 2002 anime it was pink. Mint's look attire is pretty more thicker and fem line than the older version which look more thinner and that of a ballerina dancer to ice skater performer, as for her hair in og it was pulled back in twin buns the jeweled pieces where's in the newer one it's with her current hair styles with buns and the jeweled pieces, Hair color stayed the same. Now Lettice's look attire is completely different since the og look that of a somba dancer/water performer where's in this it's a full one piece magical dress with short length skirt. Now I do like all their new looks attire which they look so cute and Lettice is cute but her old look made her the most sexy and her old mew attire was very sexy. Also with Lettice's hair color was more dark green and as mew mew Lettice her hair turn into lime green with her outfit a darker green. Where's in the newer one it's more of constant light green.

I'd like to see a future Pretty Cure Anime with one of the Pretty Cures losing control of their powers like Mew Lettuce, but eventually gets helped and reasoned with by the main protagonist like how Mew Lettuce is helped and reasoned with by Mew Ichigo.

Momomiya’s becoming more cat than girl lol. Seems pretty inconvenient if it happens every time she gets worked up considering how easily she’s flustered haha.

I figured Lettuce was the “ghost”. Luckily she was saved by the power of friendship! Lol. That’s 3 girls assembled. There should be 2 more according to the ending credits.

I like this series so far. I dig the old school feel and the characters are all very adorable. I also like that each girl has a food name like Ichigo, Lettuce, Mint lol. The transformations are pretty cute too. Plus, cute animal girls in maid outfits? Yeah, I’m pretty much sold.

Let's just hope Momomiya won't suddenly start licking her own crotch in front of her crush.

I’m reminded once again of how much the idea of being a magical girl who worked in a cute maid cafe appealed to me when I first read this series back in the day.
